Fredrik is a boy who grew up in a humble village called Woodwork that resides within the lush forest of Glowood. One day in the annual "Speed-wood-Chopping Tournament" Festival there was an unusual guest attending: The Prince of Heartblade of the capital city himself! His arcanist took a liking of Fredrik and suggested the Prince to invite him for the crucible, the harsh entrance exam for the prestigious School of Knights in the world. It is very unusual to have a landboy like Fredrik to be invited to the exam but at that time nobody knew, not even Fredrik himself, that the reason the arcanist took a liking for him is linked to the vanishing of his Mother Zardine in the war of dimensions a decade ago. It is rumored that Zardine played a big role in ending the war but for now, the whole adventure starts with a hearty farewell to his father Ron and Fredriks first steps towards the crucible.

In the first book of Fredrik we embark together with him on a journey full of adventures, friendship and heartbreaks. Fredrik is a boy who grew up in Woodwork in the region of Glowood close to nature, so moving to Heartblade was a daunting challenge for him. He never thought of taking the challenge of the crucible because he wants to support his father in his workshop but his father, Ron Timberock, encouraged him and use the crucible as an opportunity to travel the world. “How knows? Maybe you’ll get a famous Knight at one point and then you can still support me that way! Haahaahaa!” Fredrik will definitely miss the deafening laughter of his father but he feels ready for a new chapter in his life. But there is one insecurity he is carrying within him. “Dad. I am a little scared. I only used axes since I can remember. Don’t they use swords as knights?” Fredrik said almost sad. “Do not fret my son. You have a heart stronger than Glowood and you carry the most precious tool within you that is more powerful than any deadly weapons in the world.”, Ron said very proudly. “What’s that dad?”, Fredrik responded, already touched by the words of his dad to the core. “It’s your kindness my son.”, Ron shed a tear of joy and pride. “Your kindness will overcome every challenge you face. Even learning to wield a sword. But if you can, wield an axe wherever you can. Make us, the people of Glowood…” Ron paused. It seems like he’s looking for the right words within his mind. Then he continues gently:”…Make me proud son.” “I will dad.” They both shared a generous and long hug and Fredrik felt like he wants to be in this moment forever.
